Charitable Requests

Guidelines for Charitable Giving From Our Kiwanis Club

  1. Funding requests should primarily be for services and projects to help young children
  2. Kiwanis childrens’ programs and projects should receive the highest priority. They include, Key Clubs, Builder’s clubs and ongoing club projects such as: Reading is Fun; Youth Baseball in cooperation with the Fayetteville Parks and Recreation Department; Scholastic Achievement; Terrific Kids; Talent Night; etc.
  3. Other worthwhile projects, such as FTCC Book Fund, Methodist University Music Camp, etc.
  4. It is the policy of the club not to fund administrative expenses for other organizations
  5. It is the policy of the club that we do not fund requests for individual or group scholarships for higher education, beyond high school.
  6. It is the policy of the club that we do not fund requests for individuals or families for travel, housing, utility expenses, or other social or medical emergencies.
  7. It is the policy of the club that we do not fund requests for educational travel expenses for children or adults. Requests for official Kiwanis functions from its members, and from sponsored Key Clubs, and Builder’s Clubs will be considered.
  8. All new funding requests will be referred to the Finance Committee for their recommendation and then to the Board of Directors for their consideration.

Club News

Gary Cooper presents a bicycle to a scholastic achievement award winner at the end of the 2017 school year.


winebarger_king_check_autismsociety-smThe Kiwanis Club of Fayetteville, NC donated $1,000 to the Autism Society of North Carolina.  This check was presented Dec. 2 to Steve King, South Regional Director based in Fayetteville. This group mails our newsletter to any members that don’t use email.


winebarger_ellis_check_falconchildrenhome-smThe Kiwanis Club of Fayetteville, NC donated $2,000 from the Kiwanis Club of Fayetteville Endowment at the Cumberland Community Foundation.  The check was presented at our Dec. 2, 2016 meeting to Michelle Ellis, a volunteer that coordinates Christmas gifts and a Christmas party for the children at Falcon Children’s Home.
